Your service built skills.
We build your future.
One-to-one career transition consulting for people leaving the military, policing and emergency services. We translate the experience you built in service into language civilian organisations understand.
These skills transfer beyond the uniform.
Leadership. Resilience. Communication. Safety. Discipline. Problem-solving. Teamwork. You already built all of it, under conditions most workplaces will never see.
The problem is almost never the skills. It is that a civilian hiring manager cannot see them through the language of a service record. Rank, unit, postings and courses mean something to the people you served with and close to nothing to someone reading it in a mine site or a logistics operation.
There is a second filter. Many applications are screened by software before a person reads them, and a service record written in service language may never surface. That translation is the work.
Leaving the uniform
- Australian Defence Force, all three services, all ranks
- Police, still serving or separated
- Fire, ambulance, emergency services and corrections
- Still serving and planning ahead, or already out and stalled
Sectors that value it
- Mining, resources and heavy industry
- Construction and infrastructure
- Logistics, transport and supply chain
- Safety, risk, security and emergency management
- Government, regulation and compliance
- Training, assessment and workforce capability
Your transition is yours. We focus on the practical work of understanding where your experience can take you, translating it into civilian language, and preparing you to go to market yourself.
Every session, Celeste.
Every enquiry comes to Celeste. She reads it herself, and she delivers every session personally. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is templated.
Celeste works with you directly by video: understanding what you have actually done rather than what fits on a page, working out where that experience has value, and building the documents and preparation to go after it.
Her background is 26 years of people management across more than 70 cities, from backstage crew to Stage Manager, Venue Supervisor and QHSE Officer, and since 2024 in oil and gas recruitment. That is where the advice comes from: she has read applications from the hiring side and knows what makes one clear, credible and relevant to the person reading it.
She is direct about what is working and what is not, including when a target role is unrealistic and what would have to change to make it realistic.
Soteria 360 was built by people who have made this transition themselves. Two of the directors came out of law enforcement into high-risk industry, so the advice is not theoretical.
We made this move ourselves.
Two of the people behind Soteria 360 came out of WA Police and built something else. That is why this service exists, and it is why the advice is specific rather than general.
Josh Smith
Josh left WA Police three years ago with the question everyone leaves with, which is what now. He went after a safety advisor role, took a pay cut to get the first one, and had his qualification recognised through RPL.
He is straight about what that taught him. The RPL got him the paper. It did not get him ready for the work. Knowing the difference between the two is most of what he passes on now.
From there: senior HSEQ advisor on a BHP site, then a rail safety leadership program he built and delivered to more than 350 people across roughly nine months. Since then, more than twenty organisations across mining, construction and oil and gas as a trainer, assessor and instructional designer. He now designs safety qualifications end to end for Training Worx Australia (RTO 52508).
He has helped a long list of people out of the job since, and trained plenty of them once they got there, in work health and safety, training and assessment, leadership, and statutory supervisor programs for mining. Those qualifications are delivered by Training Worx Australia (RTO 52508).
Britney Smith
Britney did ten years with WA Police, cadet through to Senior Constable, across metropolitan response, patrol and inquiry, a remote Pilbara posting and the restraining order and summons service team.
She left in 2022 and went somewhere nobody would have drawn from the uniform. She built a career in branding, marketing and coaching, and now positions the Soteria 360 brand.
She also works with individuals on the same problem this page is about: how to position yourself for a market you were not sure you belonged in.
That is the useful part of her story. The assumed next step after the job is safety or security. Hers was neither, and the capability carried anyway.
Neither of them is selling you a theory. They are describing a route they have already walked, including the parts that did not go smoothly.
What the work covers.
Clear on both sides before you spend anything.
Included in the work
- Translate a service record into language civilian organisations read
- Map transferable skills, name where they have value, and name the gaps
- Write your CV and cover letter in the language of where you are heading
- Build documents using clear language and structure applicant tracking systems can read
- Rebuild your LinkedIn profile and review your professional presence
- Point out where a qualification may help, and where your experience might count toward recognition of prior learning
- Prepare you for interview, including a live mock interview

You take it to market yourself. What changes is what you are going after, and how clearly it reads when you get there.
Assess. Map. Position. Prepare.
Assess
A career and capability assessment completed online before your session, so the conversation starts from evidence rather than a blank page.
Map
Your results interpreted with Celeste by video. Where your service and experience have value, where they do not, and what the gap is.
Position
CV, cover letter and LinkedIn rewritten in civilian language, for the direction the mapping identified.
Prepare
Interview coaching and a live mock interview before you start interviewing for real, then a written plan and a follow-up 30 days later.

How it works: choose your service, confirm it with Celeste, and you receive your session booking link and preparation steps. Sessions are part of the service, not booked separately.
Tell us where you want to get to.
Send an enquiry and Celeste will come back to you with what is involved, what it costs and whether it is the right fit. Sending an enquiry does not commit you to anything.
Before you enquire
These are paid services, and there is no version of this where we put you forward for a role. If you are looking for someone to find you work, this is not that, and we would rather say so now than take your money.
If you are still serving, start early. The best time to do this work is months before your separation date, not the week after it.
If you are out and money is tight, say so in your message. Start with the piece that will move the needle rather than a full program.
Sessions run Tuesday to Friday by appointment, by video, in your time zone. Sessions may be rescheduled with 24 hours notice.
